My Voice Experience
I did a year of voiceover on our local TV station's news program that aired every Saturday morning. It was a 2-minute spot as part of the Funjet Vacations Travel Guide. I've done radio commercials (eg. Don't Smoke campaign, Eden Foods); played character roles for narration in a museum; narrated for several different car companies' Product Preview Videos; played character and have done spokesperson for software demo CD's.
My Training
I've got a Ph.D in Theatre--but I started with a Bachelor of Music in VOICE from the University of Michigan, so I have the classical training for great articulation. I also know how to color my voice differently depending on the needs of the voiceover and my vocal technique from singing helps with breathing and support of the voice. I trained in several workshops and private lessons for voiceover prior to making my demo. I also teach private voice for singers and actors. I have a Masters in Theatre from University of Michigan as well, and I'm a member of Actor's Equity. I find that I get more jobs than my non-actor-trained colleagues, because I can act and do intelligent and articulate reads.
My Studio Equipment
I use a Rode NT2-A Mic.
For editing, I use Sonar Cakewalk and Cool Edit Pro. I've got a library of sound effects and music.
