Voice Description

My voice can be common or classy, but always makes an impact. A character specialist, I have a variety of voices I can create, from warm and soothing, to authoritative, upscale, educated and articulate, friendly, tough, sensual, dramatic and emotive, to playful, funny, offbeat or upbeat. A unique, memorable quality. Authentic or cartoon characters. Specializing in narration exclusively, I give your project meticulous attention to detail -- all professional corporate voice over work, including e-learning, and other web based training. Superbly acted audio books, audio tours, documentaries and podcasts. In particular, I have a special love and talent for recording children's audio books. Authentic character voices -- everything from Shakespearean characters, to the native New Yorker I am -- to a frail old woman from Anytown, USA. I have also worked on a regular basis with accomplished actor Robert Jadah, featured here on several clips. Our collaboration earned us the VOICEY Award 2009, winning for Best Voice Team.

Additional Skills

I have stage experience in classical theater, taught acting, and directed plays with students at college, upper elementary and high school levels, notably Shakespeare. I still do live storytelling and run acting workshops. As an educational media consultant, I designed and supervised media projects with students including video in which voice over work was integral. I have worked alongside educators to develop learning methods, materials and web site support.
I am also a published poet and playwright.
