My Voice Experience

Worked with Jerry Houston and Bob MaGruder in putting my audition cd together. A couple of cornerstones in the voice over industry. However, I'm brand spanking new at this. Something I should have pursued long ago when I was still a punk kid telemarketing. "Oh, Derric, you have such a sexy voice...I'd recognize it anywhere!" Yeah, if I had a nickel for every time...
Anyway, I've sold more 'stuff' just because of the ability to chameleon my voice based on the situation. It boils down to voice acting and although, I never did record myself telemarketing or selling, maybe I should have for the ol' portfolio!

My Training

High School Diploma
Some College Computer/Programming
Spent several years as a telemarketer then several as a telemarketing manager teaching all those youngsters what I learned over the years...voice inflection, believability, etc...then turned what I knew into in-home sales...where the real money was.
Spent several weeks working with Jerry Houston Studios and Bob MaGruder.

My Studio Equipment

I have Cool Edit Pro on my laptop (is that outdated now)
and if that's not good, I will do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Additional Skills

Please see above regarding telemarketing and in-home sales experience. I spent a lot of years chameleon-ing my voice depending on the situation. Taught myself voice acting without even knowing it!
