My natural voice is warm and accesible. From there, as a voice over talent, I can deliver quiet drama, shading in a touch detached coolness or intense interest. That's my wheel house. But I can get deep and angry for my ESPN gig, or deliver a wide open enthusiasm.

Because I started in a one man radio station production department, I learned to create distinctions in my approach - sounding more intimate on romantic Valentines Day promotion or dinner-for-2 restaurant appeal. I developed the hard edge 'angry man' for sports products and some car dealers. The mindless 'happy guy' for the shoe sale spot. You get the idea.

From podcasting to web based messages, I'm a voice talent who prides himself in being directable, versatile and appropriate. Voiceovers have to be real.

My Voice Experience

2007 winner of an "Audie" award from AudioFile Magazine for my narration on an audiobook, and a finalist in the Audio Book Publishers Association competition in 2007.

I have been practicing 'voiceover' in Southern California for more than 25 years. Starting on live radio, transcending to produced promos and commercials, then on to narrations. I am and have been the image voice for many radio and television stations across the country, (From ESPN to smooth jazz formats) as well as national spokesperson for radio and television advertisers.

I actually take direction! Because I also work on the other side of the studio glass as a producer, I work hard to respond to direction - the vision of the director.

I have a practiced skill with corporate narrations, being expressive but not drawing attention to myself. The on hold, voicemail greeting also demands a lighter, more personal touch.

For broadcasters, my range of radio voices serves them well. From my hard angry guy delivery for my ESPN clients to a happy mindless promo sound for adult contemporary formats. News with an attitude goes well on the 'Talkers.'

The more intimate requirements of an on hold message voiceover delivery have taught me an easy natural touch works best.

My Training

I'm pleased to say that I have been schooled by hundreds of the most experienced and demanding directors in the business. From ad agency types to production company directors, each has contributed to my ability to set a tone that appropriate and effective. I've been fortunate enough to be successful earning while I'm learning.

Because of my many years experience narrating corporate, sales and training videos, I have lectured regularly at voice over workshops.
