Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
Can sound little-girlish, southern, fun, goofy; or, like a New Yorker, Disney-like-sweet, a serious business professional, obnoxious commercial representative, (think Menards and/or Oxy Clean); or even warm and sexy. Am also willing to practice and perfect other accents or characterizations.
My Voice Experience
I began my love for voicing things about 20 years ago. A realty company was having a contest. I wrote a radio commercial for the contest, won & had fun voicing it as well.
Since then, I've held various jobs: Stay-at-home mom, USAF administration, cosmetologist, retail, clerical, tour guide and sales. With several of those jobs, opportunities were presented to either use my voice as part of the job or write and voice commercials which I did and again, loved doing. The sales part? Not so much!
Now for the past 2 years, I've been working as a talent with Lori Lins, Ltd., and though I'm not at liberty to divulge client information; I have been afforded the privilege of not only doing print, promotion and commercial work, but voice overs as well.
I guess I love voice overs so much because it's like acting, and that, too is something I thoroughly enjoy doing and have done a lot of throughout the communities we've lived in.
My Training
Such A Voice - a company specializing in the voice over industry, offered an introductory class at a nearby college. I took the class, did well, was invited to go further with it & did. The result? Some wonderful encouragment and advice and a fantastic, professional voice over demo.
In addition to the voice overs, I am actively involved in community theatre. Some of my favorite roles include: Marmee, Annie Oakley, Sister Amnesia and the Wicked Witch of the West. I do a great cackle.
The extensive theatre experience, my love for reading and listening to audio books, my being active in pursuit of writing; including attending major writer's conferences, having written numerous feature/filler pieces over a five year period for three local publications, a script series for a major fast food chain, etc., taking basic acting classes and workshops, and my continual pursuit in learning as much as I can, when I am able to, lends itself to making my ability to deliver top-notch voice overs to a variety of clients.
My Studio Equipment
I am currently working with Pro Tools, and have my own recording space in-home. And honestly, I'm still learning. Technical is not my "gifted" area; however, I'd be willing to seek out a studio if need be.

2. Flexibility
4. Loyalty

6. How to work well with a variety of people
7. How to work under deadlines and within an established format
