My Voice Experience
It all started with a small Aboriginal Canadian radio station my producer husband and one tiny little commercial! Being aboriginal my self, this gave me the opportunity to do many spots for the station, improving with every read. This lead to possiblilities I never imagined. Since that time about 4 years ago I have branched out into other avenues. I have used my vocal talent, with the help of my husband and his fully equipped home studio (using Pro Tools), to break out into commercial reads for television (local and national), radio and DVD presentations.
My Training
Amazingly enough, with the experience I have acquired so far, I did with no formal training. As mentioned my husband is a producer for this small radio station. With every read I do for him I am pushed to do my best and read with proper inflections without sounding too forced or "read." He recieved his training from a local training facility in Vancouver then passed on his training techniques to me. Different techniques such as tongue twisters with a cork between my teeth have done wonders in my reads. Or singing a scale of "do, re, me" out loud.

Additional Skills
I coach a Under 12 boys soccer team. As a coach there is alot of yelling during a game to instruct the kids so they coud hear me. At the beginning of the season, I would always come home with a sore throat and would almost lose my voice. Through simple training I am now able to control my voice and have the same effect without losing it!
