Addition of special effects This poem by Edgar Lee Masters is one of my favorites from The Spoon River Anthology. It is the story of man who was afraid to take advantage of the opportunities life offered whether it was love or challenges of career. The poem creates the image of a man lying in his grave examining the irony of the sailboat at rest in the harbor as though it had just, finished its long journey, Life, while in fact it had never set sail.
