My Voice Experience

Stuck in a foreign country and insufficient funds to get myself back home, I needed to find a good paying job, fast! My friend suggested that I call this company that was looking for Native English speakers to sing and record songs for their children's ESL (English as a Second Language) program.

I called in to set up and interview that day, met up with the manager, sang a short song for him, and was hired on the spot!

The company was called "Happy Baby", and I recorded over 30 songs for the company to use in classrooms in Beijing, China. The company had invented their own English lyrics and had musicians compose the music. I was provided with all the written scripture and a studio to record all the songs.

It was a great experience that I will never forget!

My Training

Music has always been a huge part of my life since I was five. I have been trained to read music through twelve years of playing the piano.

I have been part of community choruses as well as school choruses.

During my adolescent and late teenage years, I was enrolled in public speaking and acting courses, where I learned to pronounciate, enunciate, and articulate my words.

I have studied at the Mount Royal College with Speech Arts teacher, Jennifer Orr from 1995-1997.

In Western Canada High School, I took drama classes from 1997-1999.

I enrolled in a Spoken and Written Discourse course with Dr. Diana Howard at the University of Calgary in 2002.
