Voice Description

Dawn O’Day is an American female narrator whose voice will soon be heard across Japan on the JR shinkansen (bullet trains). Her voice can now be heard in English schools across Japan and abroad on promotional DVDs, videos, and in PowerPoint presentations, all of which have been made for international audiences. Her academic and clinical backgrounds lend themselves nicely to voiceover work in the fields of academia, pharmaceuticals, and medicine. Her range of work includes, but is not limited to, documentaries, commercial work, industrial promotions, audio guides, English textbooks and accompanying CDs, announcements for train lines and department stores, and narrating robots’ voices. Dawn is known for her clean non-regional North American accent, her ability to clearly enunciate words, and the warm quality of her voice. She has a fondness for doing work related to motherhood, babies, and children. She welcomes all inquires related to narration work.

Professional training in studios in the Kansai area of Japan. Have done a great deal of public speaking. Completing a master of science degree from Walden University. Have studied at Harvard University Extension School on a graduate level. Hold a Bachelor of Science degree and trained as an online instructor.

Additional Skills

Background lends itself to narration work in the area of academia and medicine, and have narrated physicians' DVDs for annual conferences here in Japan. Work as an English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor lends itself to narrating textbooks (ESL and others) and to working with clients whose second language is English and understanding their needs. Also, regularly provide editing services for the scripts prior to narration. Additional work history includes research in forensic psychiatry, emergency clinical work, counseling, and editing medical journal articles.
