Voice Description

My voice has been described as warm and inviting, ideal for narration. I have often been told that I would also do well as a radio announcer. Most of my experience has been as a voice over/jingle singer. I have often been hired to perform as both the voice over and the singer on commercials. Some of the companies I have represented are McDonald's, Budweiser, Kraft, Colgate, Molson Canadian, Air Canada, United Airlines, Hardy's, Soby's to name a few. I can be sunny and bright as a mom, funny and confused as a mother-in-law, intelligent, articulate, well educated, informed and professional as a spokesperson.

I have not had much experience with character acting and I have not yet perfected my accents.

My Voice Experience

I have performed as a couple with Shawn Lawrence for "CIL paints", I was the "in-store" promotions voice for "SOBY'S Foods" and I was the voice of "Tim Horton's Donuts" for 10 years. I moved to Chicago in 1986 and was represented by the "A-Plus talent agency" as a voice over talent there. My work in the past has taken me to Montreal, Chicago, New York and Los Angeles.

My Training

I was a voice major at The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto when I began my career. From there I began to find work in the advertising industry as a voice over/jingle singer. In addition to working in commercials I have also had experience working in night clubs, musical theatre and recording studios as a session singer. I have attended courses in acting and I am currently pursuing voice over coaching to fine tune my skills.

My Studio Equipment

I have recently put a studio in my home. I am operating a MAC computer and Protools. I am hoping to install an "ISDN" program soon. Until I am able to run a session "live" from my home I am capable of completing demos and emailing them to potential employers.

Additional Skills

For twenty or so years I worked full time as a singer/voiceover/jingle singer. A few years ago I left performance to concentrate on raising my children and was retrained as a medical office assistant. I have also worked as a homemaker for seniors. As a result I am familiar with medical terminology. I have also worked in administration and sales. It is my hope to return to voice work and performance full time in the months to come.
