I was a bumble bee for a pilot television program for children that failed to be picked up.
I was hired to research and write a memorial for a leading community leader. I wrote and performed a creative non-fiction narrative in which I played 3 characters: The Creator (vibrant and engaging woman), the narrator (old wise-cracking woman)and P-nut, (clumsy, well-intended apprentice of the Creator). The family and community thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed the performance.
As a performance artist, I have self-produced work for stage. My characters have been little girls and teenagers.
The above listed work took place in Philadelphia, PA.
I am a self-taught artist. I have taken voice over and auditioning for film and screen classes in Philadelphia, PA. I've read several books on the subject and I've been performing characterizations for the past 15 years as a performance artist/spoken word artist.
I am currently a MFA candidate for Interdisciplinary Arts and Media at Columbia College Chicago.
I do not have my own studio. As a graduate student at Columbia College Chicago I have access to studio time and equipment.
I am also a writer and understand the importance of conveying nuances in texts. As a writer and interpreter of texts, my aim is to make words come to life. People should be able to "see" the words with their eyes closed.
