I started my radio career in August 1992 at Foster Communications as a part-time production talent. After 2 years, they offered me a full-time position as Assistant Program Director for a News-Talk station. I remained in that position an additional 2 years. I then took a job outside the broadcast industry, but remained part-time with Foster Communications until October, 1997.
In January, 1997, I started working part-time for an up-start company known as Rock 300, Inc. Rock 300 is a satellite music network for bowling centers. In 2003, Rock 300 expanded to provide internet streaming channels for their bowling centers. From January, 2008 until April, 2009, I programmed all 16 streaming channels with 11 different audio channels and 5 video channels.
In April, 2003 I returned to full-time broadcast radio. Until August, 2007, I hosted the mid-day show for San Angelo's top-rated country station, KGKL-FM. In addition, I was also promoted to Chief Operator for 5 stations in the company. I've performed voice work for all 5 stations.
I started recording audiobooks in June 2005. I was hired to record 3 audiobooks and 65 shorter articles for CollegeRecruiter website. They provide the audiobooks as podcasts for training college students as they entered the work-force.
I took several classes in audio production while persuing a degree in Mass Communications at Angelo State University. These classes were important in my development as voice talent. My favorite project was getting to re-write and perform a Sherlock Holmes story as an old-time radio program.
