My Voice Experience
I began my voice career as a dj at the USC student-run radio station in 2001, recording voiceover for station promos and PSAs. In 2004, I moved into professional broadcasting at Clear Channel Fresno, for whom I was both an announcer and a producer, hosting numerous shows and voicing promos, imaging, and commercial spots. I left Clear Channel in 2006 and have been a freelance voice talent ever since, voicing web cartoons and television spots for companies throughout the Los Angeles area.
My Training
While I have no formal voice education, Clear Channel Fresno was a lot like radio school. I spent every waking hour at that station, learning how to articulate well, how to deliver a message clearly and succinctly, how to modulate my voice, and how to perform correctly for different styles and media. Since then, in addition to the countless voiceover projects I have completed, I have performed as a stand-up comedian at venues throughout Los Angeles and worked with two separate production companies to write, film, perform, and edit numerous shows and podcasts.
My Studio Equipment
I have a small studio consisting of a MacBook and an M-Audio firewire interface with two XLR inputs and two 1/8" inputs. I record on an Audio Technica condenser mic and edit most projects in Adobe Audition. (I have Logic as well, but only use it for projects that thoroughly involve music.)
Additional Skills
As a dj at KRZR in Fresno, I spent every spare moment I had in the prod room, learning and practicing with the production equipment. Within a year, I was writing and producing station imaging without assistance. I have also written and recorded numerous podcasts/sketches for various entertainment websites. I am a good editor with proven writing skills.
