Voice Description
I specialize in standard reading and dialect with a Midwest background (Ohio high school grad). I have lived most of my life in Texas and can do the drawl as needed. Good-ol'-boy, professional, "FM radio guy" and play-by-play would be strong formats for me. Vocal productions, vocal noises, singing are all in my bag of tricks.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
Bob, the Tomato and Larry, the Cucumber (VegiTales); Elmer Fudd; other cartoon characters, with exposure and examples. FM radio guy; Play-by-play guy; Effeminate guy; Super-hero voice.
My Voice Experience
The only voice-over work I have done was when I worked with Tower Sales Consultants. I wrote some ad copy and id some ad reading demos and samples for in-store radio networks. I have recorded a vocal solo demo (4 songs) in a studio here in Dallas and have recorded a solo in studio format for our choir (First @ Firewheel). I'm breaking into the business and looking to gain experience for this paragraph.
My Training
My background and experience is in the 37 years I have been singing solos (winning OMEA awards in Ohio, as well as 1st place nationally for Assemblies of God Teen Talent in Vocal Ensemble in 1974. I won Ohio District Vocal Solo in Teen Talent for 1975. I have been singing, directing choirs, leading worship and/or singing on worship teams ever since. I was a full-time pastor for 5 years, and public speaking was a regular part of my duties.
My Studio Equipment
I have a home computer with Audacity 1.2.6 and a Logitech stand mike - I know - I got nothin'. I have worked on 16-channel sound boards with churches I attended and our current board is a 30-channel board. I understand gain vs. output, how pegging clips the sound and overdriving distorts it. I have basic understanding but not a lot of experience with the boards.
Additional Skills
I am computer-savvy, am orally eloquent and am strong with the written word. I have marketing experience and background and can write scripts as well as ad copy. I was copy editor of my high school yearbook and have been writing and editing business letters for my superiors at companies throughout my career. I look for consistency of voice, spelling, syntax and grammar errors and generally make suggestions that improve the flow of the letter. Often I am able to state the intended message better than was the original author.
