Voice Description
My natural voice is a warm baritone with naturally-airy quality.
My voice can also be warm and deep for "broadcaster" quality narrations (which I can also ham up for comedic effect).
I can tighten my voice to give it a William H. Macy-like effect - almost squeaky.
I can also soften my voice and raise the pitch for a more "refined" sound, and even deliver the "haughty" shop owner of "I Love Lucy" fame.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
Accents: southern/midwestern US, English (both refined and "base"), Scottish, Australian
Other talents: I have a natural talent for pronouncing most Western European and Latin American words, even in languages where I have no fluency, which allows me to read foreign content with no need for phonetic copy.
I can perform a basic John Wayne impersonation, but impersonations are not my forte ('though I can occasionally pull off a passable Sean Connery).
My Voice Experience
I am a military-trained journalist and broadcaster. I graduated from the Defense Information School (the military school that produced the real Adrian Cronauer) in 1994 and served for three years at the Naval Postgraduate School in the public affairs office.
After my discharge from the Navy, I began working at NPS as the lead audiovisual technician. My duties there deal mostly with the engineering side, but I also provide voice overs as necessary for events in our main 1,300-seat auditorium.
My Training
Defense Information School, Basic Journalist Course, graduated 1993.
Defense Information School, Basic Broadcaster Course, graduated 1994.
Certified Technology Specialist by Infocomm (the audiovisual industry professional association)
My Studio Equipment
I work almost exclusively with Mackie mixers here at the Naval Postgraduate School, but am also versed in everything from basic Shure mixers to the portable Gigrac mixer/amplifier (which I absolutely love, by the way).
I routinely work with sound processors, from compressor/limiters to graphic and parametric equalizers and feedback exterminators.
I have a strong knowledge of audio engineering and getting the best quality out of sometimes-inadequate voices.
Additional Skills
I have a strong technical background; not only did many of my articles at NPS cover advanced engineering and scientific principles, I have studied nuclear engineering and electrical engineering in the Navy. I can grasp advanced technological concepts.
I have a broad range of interests, from art to writing (working on a novel at the moment), science and engineering to sports, politics to religion.
I'm an avid singer (and have been singing most of my life); my voice is baritone/bass-baritone, although I can since some tenor parts, too.
