Voice Description
I can alter my voice nearly indefinitely. I am known all over my acquaintance groups as a mimic of many movie characters. I can be original as well, and rather prefer being so, but mimicry is fine. I can be anywhere from harsh, grating, and incredibly low-pitched to high, squeaky, breathy, wierd, chilling, and many other forms of speech. I would be good at characterizations, but also at simply advertising. I can be warm, deep, expansive, booming, or timid, small, ANYTHING that is required by different characters.

My Voice Experience
I have been providing the voice overs for my church's youth group videos for several months, ranging from braveheart spoofs to british aristocracy to mimicking the deep-voiced guy from movie traliers.
In fact, after my first recording for a video we did, one of the youth asked if we hired a professional "trailer announcer" for the mock-preview we made. My youth leader looked at me and said, "Fortunately, we suckered him into recording before he could ask for money. And, fortunately, we got him first!"
The poor youth kid was confused, and walked off, telling his friends (judging by the rumors circulating the next day) that we had indeed hired a pro.
My Training
I learned to be a voice actor from simply reading books aloud to myself for fun, taking the part of all the characters, and seeing how many voices I could do without repeating myself.
At a week-long acting workshop, I learned cockney and irish accents. My british and scottish were obtained from listening to UK radio on the web.

Additional Skills
I can do excellent scottish (I learned from listening to scottish radio), british (likewise), irish, cockney british, australian. My normal mode of speech is basic american (i.e. the way the DICTIONARY pronounces words).
I can mimic (as stated above) many characters, nearly all of the unusual voices in Lord of the Rings (Gollum (my first), Saruman (my delight), Gandalf, ALL of the orcs and uruk-hai (my favorites), pippin, etc.)
I can do many other voices, any that are unusual in some way.
But I enjoy being original, and often try to find new ways to constrict or expand my throat to produce hollow or chilling voices, or deep and warm, high and squeaky, etc.
I have been told by several people that I speak more in my wide range of voices and accents than my actual voice, WHICH has been altered significantly since I started doing all this.
I also have been writing a fantasy novel for several years, and have written in the accents that i know in many of my characters.
