My voice tends towards tenor. I was raised in Britain and had a thick English accent as a child, so it comes back easily, but I have spent most of my life in the US, a mix of Texas, Connecticut, Colorado, and California. I tend to be disarming and charming in introductions, conversations, pitches, presentations, and speeches, can improvise dry wit at high speed, and am very sensitive to comedic timing. Highly and distinctively gesticulative should you need mo-cap or animation reference material.

My Voice Experience

This is my first foray into voice-over work. Most of my experience is in acting, which I've done off and on as a hobby for a few years. My voice-over mentor is Naomi Mercer (voice123). I have nowhere near her range, but I can crack her up sometimes, which is a start.

I do business development for a living and have a vast amount of experience in the game industry giving speeches, teaching classes, pitching game designs, representing clients, negotiating deals, raising money, this sort of thing. I adore quality conversations at parties and meeting new people. I am told I am a very good listener, and I really enjoy "riffing" off of someone, sort of complimenting or playing against their character in a conversation.

In any of these scenarios, I am very sensitive to when I sound "on," and when I hear myself exercising my kung fu, I realize that it's bordering on hypnotizing, which is why I suspect I might be able to parlay this into voice-over work. I am eager to get my hands dirty.

My Training

BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, 2 years of acting classes, a hosting class, a stand-up comedy class. I directed the Rolls Royce Gadget Gossip episode, acted in this spec ad, and made an odd improvisational video letter for my niece.

Additional Skills

I know most people in the game industry, including many of the really famous peeps you've heard of, if that's handy. I moderate a mailing list of about 500 entertainment people (producers, writers, directors, actors, etc) who are helpful with all kinds of things to do w/ production. I know a lot about a lot of things, from science to marketing to management to art. I am super passionate about story and writing, but I've never done it professionally, except for in game designs.
