Voice Description

While my regular talking voice is a smooth, melodious baratone/bass, I can perform a variety of accents and pitches of male voices. My accents include (but are not limited to) various British Isles (e.g. Cockney, Irish, etc.), American-no accent, American-Michigan UP, American-hillbilly, American-southern drawl, American-native, Australian, Russian, Spanish, French, Canadian, Indian, and Klingon. I can, and have made up voices for various radio characters and for commercials. As for immitations for celebreties, I can do Peter Griffin from FAMILY GUY and an ok Jerry Seinfield. My President Bush is passable. In the not-likely-to-be-topical impersonations, I can do Jimmy Stewart, Ronald Reagan, and Terry Jones' character in "ERIC THE VIKING," the King of High Brazil.

My Voice Experience

My radio experience began in 1987 at the biggest and most listened-to radio station in north central West Virginia, WVAQ. I was the afternoon AOR dj there from 1988-1990, and then moved to another Morgantown WV station, , WCLG, where I had the same shift in a classic rock format from 1990-1995. From 1997-2005, I was the morning show dj on a classic rock station in Fairmont, WV.
During the mid to late '90s, I preformed voice-over talents for Time-Warner Cable's local TV commercials. Recently, I voiced a short story written by C. Whipkey for use in podcasting.

My Training

Although my degree from West Virginia University is a Regent's BA with an AOE in Creative Writing, my initial choice of majors was journalism. With the exception of 1 or 2 courses, I enrolled and completed all of the classes offered to undergraduates in the Communications department.

Additional Skills

I am creative and adaptable. My voice is your oyster. I can also type fairly fast (c. 60 wpm) and understand and use pcs regularly. I also play rhythm guitar and have a wide range of musical interests.
