It all started when I was asked to volunteer at a community based college radio station to do production work and record promos. Around 1992 or 1993, I recorded several promos, IDs, PSAs, underwriting and show intros on a weekly basis until about 2001. After that time I did Intros and ending on Spoken word CDs. I have recorded voice tracks for radio commercials, promos and recently I a lot of sampled announcements for corporate events and galas.
Public speaking in college for communications. Most all of my practical training came through working at that radio station.
Though I have several outside studios I have easy access to, my most current and simple and portable setup is using a my MXL 990 studio condenser mic into my portable Tascam DR-40 4-track recorder. All audio edited using my DAW of choice Reaper. Studio headphones, speakers windscreen and mic stands are just some of the accessories that make up my home or on the go VO recording system.
As a recording engineer for the past 20 years at some of the biggest studios in this city I am very knowledgeable of the recording, editing and mixing process. Mostly using Pro Tools, as a standard DAW outside of my portable Amek to Neve.
