My Voice Experience

I became interested in voice overs back in the 1990's. I started doing imitations of friends I knew and they were amazed. I realized I had a good ear for picking up on certain vocal characteristics. Since I was already a musician and composer, I was tapped to do some local commercials, both for radio and television. I did the music for an RTA radio spot highlighting the rollout of the new streetcars in New Orleans. I also did the music for a local law firm's TV commercial running late night after the news.

It became clear that I could really put my dialect and speaking skills together with music I had been doing for other peoples projects and create 30 and 60 second spots. I have organized and taken inventory of my skills and now I feel I'm ready to put all my experiences to use.

My Training

I don't presently possess any communication degrees, but I have researched the voice over business. I have some music composition and performance experience and attended some communication classes while at Xavier University (New Orleans). I am presently pursuing a History Degree online and will be graduating Fall 2009. I feel that a strong background in History as well as world travel as a musician has exposed me to global awareness and knowledge, plus a wealth of voice over material.
