I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Organizational Communications from one of the top Universities in the Philippines, The University of the Philippines (more commonly known as U.P.) Since I graduated I have tried out different things and this was important for me to really find out what I was interested in -- which is live events hosting, organizing events, radio, and doing voice commercials.
Doing VO's was a suggestion from a good friend of mine who had started doing it a year or so before I started. He told me that I might find a "niche" for myself in the industry since the primary requirement which was the ability to speak English well was already something I naturally possessed.
I tried it out but I was not comfortable right away. It took some time for me to be able to let myself go inside the studio and follow directions properly but I noticed that working on radio and doing more hosting gigs has affected the way I deal and approached doing voice commercials tremendously.
Radio DJ for more than a year (Mellow 94.7. 6AM - 10AM, M-F)
Live Events Hostess (since 2002) -- My experience is mostly standing in front of people and making sure that everyone is on the same page, and to move the program along in a clear and efficient manner and be entertaining as well.
Events Organizer (2008) -- This allows me to deal with everyone from hosts, clients, directors, photographers, videographer, talents etc. It has given me a bigger scope of the whole entertainment industry. Because of this I have a 360 degree view of what happens on the stage and behind it as well.
