Crazy in Alabama! That's the title of one of the books I've read aloud as we've driven away on vacation. I've also read several books by Bill Bryson, the Harry Potter series, and M*A*S*H.
I'm new at recording. I have 25 years experience writing and presenting sermons in a way that engages and keeps the attention of my little flock of parishioners. I read children's and adult fiction books aloud, using appropriate accents and voices for the different characters (one of my recent favorites was "Crazy in Alabama"); I have read very dry resolutions for debate with multiple citations of constitutional articles and sections in public gatherings of several hundred people and received high praise for having done so in a way that all could hear and follow the action to be taken.
I have a B.A. in Psychology from UCSC, and a M.Div. from a school of theology in Chicago. While in the seminary I had a class in homiletics (the preparation and delivery of sermons including using microphones).
I have been singing in choirs and as a soloist for many years. I have taken voice (singing) classes and worked with voice (singing) coaches.
I have taken one class in voice acting with Janet Wilcox through UCLA Extension. Each class session included mike time, recording a variety of types of work. I have continued my own study, am currently reading books on Accents and dialects.
I have a MacBook Pro and have experimented with GarageBand but I do not currently have a studio.
