I have hosted live morning breakfast-type television shows, done live tv and radio commercials, been called upon for slide and video presentation narration, etc.
Since I host and produce a syndicated weekend radio program, I am called on quite often to creat and/or voice copy for a sponsor. Some of these sponsors who come mind include, Blockbuster Video, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and Restaraunts, the Great Smoky Mountains, Whitfield Foods, R C Cola and Dish Network.
While I double majored in journalism and drama in college (as well as taking a number of courses in creative writing and speech), I gained my actual voice training in local on-air radio as well as local stage plays. When I went into radio, the most fascinating area I found was the talk radio format. I believe it was there that I learned how to deliver points in a commercial message as well as developing interview techniques to get guests talking.
As an independent businessman, I own and run my own advertising agency and consulting firm. I write, create, produce and direct television commercials as well as doing occasional on-camera talent and voice work.
Before I began work in the agency business, I worked in production and sales in television and radio and, to a lesser degree in print and outdoor. I am familiar with the entire sales, creative and development process with regards to electronic media and marketing.
