Voice Description

I have a warm and melodious mid-range voice. In my work in radio my voice tended to deepen as I gained experience. This tone I often use when I am doing phone work. I have typically used a lighter voice for theater, especially as I often play comical characters. I speak French, but English is my native language. I have experience doing dialects and accents for theater productions. I am also a singer and I do impersonations of Elvis, Frank Sinatra and the Beatles. I also do gregorian chants.

My Voice Experience

I currently work promoting a new and innovative software to selected individuals over the phone before it is released to general public in a couple months. My supervisor and coach, a national elite athlete trainer, told me that whatever I do in my life, make sure that it involves the use of my voice. That got me thinking...You know what? The best moments of my work life, when I was the happiest and the most successful, were when I used my voice in creative projects.

In the late 80's I worked for WPXC in Hyannis, Massachusetts when they were just starting out. I started by engineering a jazz show and ended up being a weekend announcer. Pixy, as it is popularly known, became to most listened to station on all of Cape Cod. During this period, I worked in theater and took singing lessons by night. I appeared in a number of local productions including a lead in the musical Evita where I played the part of Auguste Magaldi, an Argentine tango singer.

Since that time, I have studied,traveled,married and now have a beautiful little family. After five years of working in the healthcare field, I am using my voice again doing sales and am eager to find some woice over work.

My Training

I studied communications and worked in college radio at Stonehill College.I received my Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Massachusetts in 1986. After completing my degree, I continued to take courses in theater and I also worked in commmunity theater.I also took a number of workshops in Boston including singing, Alexander Technique and communication styles. I worked professionally as an annoucer for WPXC in Hyannis, Massachusetts.

I worked briefly in business to business phone sales. I was very successful due in large part to the warmth the professionalism and the confidence that radiated from my voice.

I am currently in the process of a career transition. I am returning to work in communications, an area that has always been a passion for me. I am eager to get started in the voice over market and draw on my experience as an actor and an announcer to bring high quality, professional work to my customers.
