As a media content creator I’ve often had the need for a voice over recording during tight deadlines. At first, I began recording my own scratch tracks for storyboards and stand-ins for picture editing until the audio voice over could be acquired from hired talent. Since I've performed a fair bit of acting myself it wasn't long before I began to slip my own voiceovers into productions here or there, and received positive feedback. I began to list my samples with voice talents as an option to my clients (anonymously) and they began selecting my voice. Happily I began to make my voice over work more of a focus. I've provided all kinds of voiceovers for promos, commercials, commercials as voice and on-camera host. Today, I continue to build my history of satisfied clients.
I started as an intern in a voice recording studio, obtained my associates degree in film and television and have operated my own production studio for over six years.
I own everything from DAT recorders, studio mics and pop filters to sound proofing, sound boards and audio editing apps for sweetening and delivery (no I do not have any reel to reel machines). :)
I've had the excellent opportunities to perform for the camera and even more direct talent for the camera. Both of these experiences have helped me get a great feel for the balance that needed to push the performance while maintaining performance integrity. I've also have the wonderful opportunity of working with top rate voice over talent and seeing what works and what doesn't.
