My Voice Experience

My first voice over job was for an online science website for 1st-4th grade. The project manager was so excited when we started because I was exactly what she was looking for: vibrant, youthful, and engaging.
After recording for 2 hours, an older looking man came in and was listening to me with disgust on his face. I started doing take after take after take on the same five sentences. I then heard him shout "THAT VOICE IS TOO YOUNG AND PLEASANT FOR SCIENCE! Where's is the school marm I asked for?"
I lost the rest of the project. But I knew exactly where I fit in - in a world where youthful energy is wanted and science isn't boring.

I spent most of my time since then reading books and telling stories in libraries, parks, parties, and play-dates. Upon moving to NYC I took a Voice Over class and realized that I have a marketable and amazing sound.
