I have professionally narrated several books which can be found for sale on Audible, Amazon, and in iTunes. These books ranged from literary fiction to science fiction and fantasy, as well as non-fiction.
I have a BFA in Animation and Multimedia from the Art Institute of Seattle. I've been an avid listener of audiobook for years and from this grew a passion for narrating books.
I have an Audio Technica AT2020 Cardioid Condenser Microphone which I run into my computer, a pop filter to eliminate plosives, and sound dampening foam surrounding my microphone to eliminate the reflection of my voice back to the microphone. I use Audacity to edit and master my audio. I like using a condenser microphone because it picks up all the nuance in my voice. While a dynamic microphone would pick up less background noise I have an excellently quiet recording space complete with built in shelves to the exact height I need for microphone and text placement so I can record comfortably for hours.
My day job is as a 3D and Multimedia artist. I work a lot with audio and video, as well as creating 3D and 2D art assets for the software company I work for. I really enjoy my job, almost as much as doing voice work from the comfort of my own studio. I also love listening to and producing podcasts.
