Dale Chodorow

U.S. Regional (Southern, New England, Brooklyn and others); Canadian, British, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Scandanavian, Asian; plus selected impersonations and characterizations (as needed). My accent is universal, having grown up in western New York and lived in western Pennsylvania, metro New York, central Indiana and North Carolina.

My voice work began with high school PA announcements, assembly speeches and theater work; then college radio news and talk shows (plus text and assignment readings for blind students through the YWCA); professional advertising and sales promotion narrations; and work as a radio broadcast reader for the blind (all genres) with the Central Indiana Radio Reading Institute and currently with the Triangle Radio Reading Service. I hold a B.A. in English from the University of Pittsburgh and an M.A. in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. (I also studied architecture at Carnegie Mellon University and have taken numerous continuing education courses.) I have access to broadcast studios of TRRS in Raleigh, NC, and basic recording equipment at home. I've also used broadcasting equipment at the colleges I've attended, and in graduate school served as broadcast engineer and announcer with the statewide WUNC TV network. I've also read books and stories to school classes and groups; as an advertising account executive made many group sales presentations; and as a professional and community group officer given talks before many audiences of all sizes.
