Voice Description

I tend to speak in a warm, medium to deep voice which is androgynous. I can do variations however, higher pitched female vocals, or lower pitched male vocals and as a story teller I am used to doing voices and imitating accents, and language intonations. I have good diction and know how to paint a picture with my voice.

My Voice Experience

I have been speaking publicly since I was 9 years old. I would travel to various churches and do story time for children's programs, I was also a part of many adult panels from the time I was a child. I acted in plays and skits, and sang in the choir, group, family and solo performances. I have narrated for large and small productions as well as being a designated church reader for MCC Tampa, in Florida for 2009-2010.

Prior to 1994 I was a key voice as well as assistant writer for the weekly religious broadcast done by the then West Indies College and the then West Indies Union of Seventh-day Adventist that was aired island wide.

My Training

I have a B.A. in Fine from the University of South Florida
I completed 2 years of Mass Communications - Television and Radio at the University of South Florida before switching to Fine Arts as a major.
I was a program voice in Jamaica for Northern Caribbean University (formerly West Indies College)religious broadcasts.
I used to preach within the Seventh Day Adventist church in Jamaica.
I am a spoken word artist.
I have participated in several church vocal groups in Jamaica and the USA and am also a solo artist.
I won the gold medal in the Jamaican National Festival of Performing Arts in 1988 in solo performance.
