My Voice Experience

The way my voice over career began was by luck. My agent called me to fill in for someone to record a few commercials for a furniture store. That job turned into a recurring job for Lacks Furniture in Texas. I was the Spanish spokesperson for 10 years. As I gained more experience, I recorded primarily voice overs in Spanish. A number of companies I have recorded voice overs for are: KFC, White Castle, Beringer Wine, Fiesta Supermarkets among many others

Working as an on-air personality at a radio station, I learned the improvisation skills needed to interact with listeners and keep them engaged. More opportunities arrived. I became the simultaneous news interpreter for the local Fox News station. I translated the news in real-time, which kept my Spanish fresh.

I am currently enrolled in a two year theatre program which will help me create characters that can be used for voice over work.

My Training

I received my B.A in Communications from the University of Houston with a concentration in Media Production (Radio, Television and Film).

I have also taken courses in voice and speech for a number of years. I am the lead vocalist for one of the best local rock cover bands. I have performed in a number of musicals as well. My vocal range is mezzo-soprano.

I am currently enrolled in a two year theatre program. I am also the anchor for an upbeat, entertainment news show, which keeps my journalism skills current.

My Studio Equipment

I have a simple studio setup. I own a Shure Studio recording microphone. The computer program that I use for recording is Ableton Live. The USB interface that I use is a mobile Pre USB.

The more work I get through voice overs will allow me to expand my current studio.

Additional Skills

I am very professional and my turnaround is within 24 hours. Aside from voice over work, I have been in a children's play in which I created three different characters by changing my voice and form of speech.

I create marketing materials and publicity for my band from concept to completion.
