My Voice Experience

I am an audiobook narrator, and I often get interesting fan mail because of the Laurell K. Hamilton Vampire series I record. It's always a challenge to make each and every character unique when there are so many within one read but I love it, fangs and all.

I have also done religious readings (Praying God's Word & The Bible for young adults) just to contrast my dark vampire ways! And hopefully one of my reads, Loose Lips by Claire Berlinski, will be made into a movie, that is the rumor anyway!

I have enjoyed voicing characters for video games, as it’s the only time you can swing a sword at someone you don't like very much and not go to jail! And I have also enjoyed recording several segments for a Spike TV program called Life Lessons…I did learn a lot working on that project.

Then there are commercials for factory outlets...in which you must inspire others to hurry out today! Or the local business voicemail, which helps to ease customer worries that all will be taken care of...after everyone is back from Starbucks that is!

From the serious professional project, to the fun and sassy segment, I enjoy it all.

My Training

I began as many voice actors do, by following the well-worn path to Hollywood from Seattle, WA. I was working at a marketing company in Beverly Hills to support my acting habit and my boss picked me out of our company to record the complex voicemail greeting. I would often get messages at my extension just from people complimenting my voice and presentation, and thus my journey into the voiceover genera began.

I have studied voiceover from Kalmenson and Kalmenson and Marc Cashman Commercials and took a few years of audiobook training.

I also sang in an all-girl band for a few years (voted one of Music Connections top 100 unsigned bands!), and I still help backup friends on stage from time to time.
In addition to voiceover I am currently continuing to pursue my acting career in Film and TV.

I am also completing my B.A. majoring in psychology...just to understand my characters motivation more….okay, I admit it, AND to appease my parents!
