My Voice Experience
My voice over experience began in 2005 as an English teacher. My students were able to understand my voice from the very get-go because I've developed it to be as neutral as possible. My Southern upbringing in North Carolina was a wonderful experience; however, after hearing my New England relatives speak on several occasions, I decided to change the way I speak. I began saying "you guys" instead of "y'all". I'm able to adapt very well to other people's accents and adopt various words that are different from the common language I speak. Many people have suggested I go into radio because of my voice.
My Training
Teaching English as a foreign language overseas helped tremendously in my further development of a neutral accent. I also helped those with speech impediments.
I'm also involved in a weekly Internet talk show that is featured consistently week after week.
My Studio Equipment
I have a Behringer Mixer, a Perception 120 microphone by AKG, Adobe CS4 (Soundbooth and Premiere Pro), Audacity.
I also have a Panasonic digital camcorder, top quality speakers and an external 32-bit sound card for my laptop so I can hear and test the way my voice sounds.
Additional Skills
Not only do I specialize in voice over work, I'm also a web designer/developer. I've been designing websites since August 2007.
