Voice Description

My voice has a moderate-to-deep, resonant tone. As an Air Force brat growing up all over the US, I dodged the development of any accent whatsoever.

I have a very large range, able to do great reads for everything from exciting product introductions and consumer promotions to mid-range corporate scripts, to heart-rending narrator tracks for charities, hospitals and other not-for-profit organizations.

As an old "college radio" DJ, I cut my teeth years ago, polishing the "top 40 DJ" style that was popular then and still gets plenty of use in live events as well as rollicking employee rallies, customer events and shows of different kinds.

Most of my current work comes in two categories - corporate video narration and fund-raising videos.

When you need someone who can easily handle "...with its new, advanced, collimated ion-beam etching system..." I'm your guy.

When you need someone to tell your viewers, "...without your help, patients with a variety of developmental disabilities, as well as their loved ones, will have to look elsewhere for the care they need, and deserve" I'm your guy, too.

New York, North Jersey - "ey, whadda YOU lookin' at? Fuggedaboudit!"

My Voice Experience

I'm what you call "well-seasoned" and "uniquely qualified".

With almost 30 years in the business, I've pretty much done it all, on tape, on camera and live.

You've heard me on commercials for Sharp TV's, New York Telephone, plus local and regional special events in the New York Area. I've welcomed travelers to New York City airports on closed-circuit TV.

With a vast range of experiences for top companies ranging from Avon, Sony, Olympus, Panasonic, Pepsi and Motorola to local and regional clients including hospitals, builders, retailers, manufacturers and countless charities, my voice has been heard across the nation and probably around the world.

I do a great job with one-person narrations, but also do really well as part of an ensemble, especially in a male-female interaction that requires a certain degree of acting and improvisation.

My voice has welcomed 6,000 delegates to National Conventions, brought employees to their feet during sales rallies and employee meetings, gathered consumers and event guests for live shows and events, and drawn a few tears from audiences at fundraisers for some of New York's most prominent charities and institutions.

My Training

I graduated with a Communications degree from Rider College (now Rider University) in Lawrenceville, NJ. After a few years working for the Seven-Up Company in St. Louis, and Citibank in New York, I started Craig Cooper Productions, where I have worked for a huge range of clients on corporate events, videos and films.

I am an award-winning producer, as well as a terrific writer. Clients including Motorola, New York's Cablevision, Pitney Bowes, Capital One Bank and many others ask for me to work with their top executives on scripts, speech preparation and to provide my own voiceover skills to their videos and live events.

Charities and not-for-profits hire me to write and produce their videos and very often after I do a live-read of the script I've just drafted, they say, "Hey, I think we found our voiceover artist."

Over the past few years, I've been the Public Affairs Coordinator for the Suffolk County Chapter of the American Red Cross. In this role, I'm the spokesperson for our chapter, and I'm proud of the opportunities I've had to represent the Red Cross on television, radio and at live events.

I've been an aspiring singer-songwriter since I was a teenager, and while I never "made it" I was proud to work with recording artist Harry Chapin and enjoy his mentoring and support in my songwriting and performing endeavors. Probably one of the most memorable times in my life was the many chances I had to "open" Harry's concerts, playing my own songs for thousands of people.

My Studio Equipment

I am equipped at home with a fully-loaded G-5 Mac tower, using Sound Studio, ProTools and a variety of other recording programs. I work with an assortment of microphones including AKG, EV and even an old Shure SM-series that just sounds great.

I do have a good library of music, and access to the entire "Killer Tracks" system for instant access to music and effects.

I am also able to get to a full-service recording studio on a few hours' notice to record, digitize and email fully conformed audio files as needed by the client.

Additional Skills

Having been on the corporate side, as well as on the production side, it have the unique perspective of being both the client and the vendor. I have been told many times that I have an uncanny knack for immersing myself into a client's project, their culture and their terminology, so when I am telling someone,

"... In 2007, Aspen Pharmagenetics received FDA clearance for the world’s first non-radioactive direct hemo-dialytic intervention designed specifically for acute myelogenous leukemia..." I actually know what I'm talking about.

Bottom line: "He listens, he writes, he reads, HE SCORES!!
