Voice Description

My natural speaking voice is a clear, deep baritone. When I perform speeches, I have no trouble reaching the back of a large room, and I usually do not have to resort to shouting. I can use my voice for a broad range of purposes, from the excited near-shouting of a Truck Show ad, to the warmer, softer tones of a commercial for sparkling white wine.

I am also capable of producing playful, childlike voices, as well as some more goofy, cartoony ones. Originally from the Canadian Province of Newfoundland, I can easily produce a "Newfie" accent as well, which can be transferred to English, Irish, and Scottish accents as well.

My Voice Experience

Professionally, I've done close to a dozen promos for an Internet radio station called Go Radio Now. The station is owned and operated by a French Canadian gentleman named Steve Leveille; my own promos on the station do not bear a French accent. I've recently been given the mantle of Music Director and Creative Producer.

I've also signed on as a volunteer news reader with Voice Print Canada.

My Training

I have been developing my voice in Toastmasters International Public Speaking and Leadership Program since March of 2003. I have written and presented about thirty-five speeches during this time on a variety of topics. I've served on the club executive four times, currently serving as club President.

My Studio Equipment

To record auditions:
* HP Compaq NX6110 Laptop with SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio
* Cool Edit Pro for my recording software.
* Samson Q1U microphone which connects to my PC via USB.

In the event if being accepted for a project, I have access to an actual studio which includes a Yamaha 0X1 mixer, Cubase software, and a low impedance microphone.

Additional Skills

In my work with Internet Radio station called Go Radio Now, I co-write, produce, and voice their station promos. I've added musical and sound effects to my promos and demos, and many can be heard on the station. I have also recently begun assembling the shows for webcast, performing a little on-air banter.
