Voice Description

I have always been told I have a younger voice for my age (22), and found working in radio to be pretty beneficial for my unique voice! I found that I sounded pretty awesome on the spots I did for my local top 40 station, and the one I still currently work for in promotions. I can do sexy and fun commercials or young and vibrant ads. I can also try to sound older/professional, but the young or sexy sides are most prominent.

My Voice Experience

I've been working for Clear Channel Communications since 2005. Just last year, I decided to complete a 6 month internship there in addition to my employment in promotions so that I could experience both the sales and production aspects of all Clear Channel stations in the building.

Upon coming to this decision, I was given the opportunity to record, edit, manipulate, and submit several spots over the course of 6 months that aired on six different Clear Channel Philadelphia stations. This also led to the opportunity to create two "shows", one for the station and another for the university I attended.

The only reason why I do not presently work full time in a radio/tv/film/production/voiceover spot is because the economy has made job placement in the field slim to none!

My Training

I was a Radio/TV/Film major as of last year, so all of my courses ranged from Public Speaking to Radio Industry to Sound Communication. Of course, most of my experience stems from my 6 month internship in production at Clear Channel in Philadelphia.

I am extremely familiar with ALL types of music and have a sincere passion for it, which is evident in my job as a promotions assistant for Q102, Philly's top 40 station.

I also studied Communication at La Salle University prior to receiving my degree in RTF at Rowan University. Within these majors, I studied topics such as voicework, radio, television, film, critiquing any of these, communication, all things media, morality relating to each, and extensive courses in journalism, including one-course short of a minor in the subject and several honors journalism courses in high school.

My Studio Equipment

I have full access to any private studio at Clear Channel.

The studio includes a microphone, soundboard, and Adobe Audition for editing and manipulation purposes. Each voice track can be saved to the PC, emailed to the asker, or even mailed via snail mail. I also have access to SEVERAL music/background/sound effects CD's that are used on each of Clear Channel's stations.

Additional Skills

I can say that I am utterly in love with voicework. I faced some teasing, even by grownups, surprisingly so, just for always having a voice that sounded a little younger than my actual age.

Working in production for Clear Channel was an eye-opener! I was finally given the opportunity to put this "flaw" of mine to use. I know that I was placed in the production area of the internship BECAUSE of my voice, and I know that my supervisor there was always pleased with my work because she knew I'd sit there and perfect it, whether it meant re-recording, re-editing, re-chopping, re-anything! I put my heart and soul into voicework because I have a tremendous passion for it. I would appreciate any opportunity even to audition for anything that might fit my "skills" and I truly look forward to getting started.
