My Voice Experience

For a number of years I was an announcer for the BBC for documentaries and drama programs. This work was intense short form work performed under tight conditions with very precise timings required. I am pretty much frame accurate and hit a timing almost always within two takes.

I have also done a wide range of corporate programs ranging from sailing jaunts to highly complex medical programs, from factual programs on the process of whisky making to very dry films about the world of banking.

Always compelling, never boring, even if the writing might suggest otherwise!

My Training

I learned about voice work by being a director and working with actors and artistes of all different types and calibres - from international stars to fantastic provincial talent.

My Studio Equipment

I am not an audio engineer but have access to studios with ISDN and engineers in-house with all the production facilities you could possibly need - extensive sound FX library, music recording facilities, composers and foley room.

Additional Skills

My principal occupation is film directing. I have experience working with actors at all levels of their careers and the job has taken me into a number of worlds that ordinarily people wouldn't have access to. This means I can empathise with a massively diverse range of situations from riots to quiet sailing weekends, from the east end of Glasgow to the red carpet in Cannes.

I have travelled extensively throughout Europe and also a little in Southern Asia and the United States.
