Voice Description

My voice is extremely smooth and with a bit of depth to the tonality. Great for professional presentations, as well as for sexy commercials and narrations. Radio and television voiceover work is totally appropriate for me, given the range and depth and talents in my voice. I also speak Jamaican patois, and I have a rather charming British accent. I can sing/sound like Nina Simone, Roberta flack, and Natalie Cole, no problem.

My Voice Experience

So, my name is CoCo 'Cognac' Brown; 'Cognac' is not my drink of choice - my stylist gave me that name describing my voice that way: smooth, refined, rich, smooth, hot, sexy. I am a soul groove recording artist who has recorded commercial i.d.s for CBC Radio-Canada, as well as other community radio stations locally. I have released a full length CD independently and my latest hit single is out on various radio stations here in Toronto. I have also scored '2' plays, wherin I provided the soundscape, both vocal and instrumental, sounds of nature included. Most recently I have been doing radio promotional work for 104.5 CHUM FM in Toronto, Ontario, B98.5 FM in Atlanta, Georgia, the New 93Q FM in Houston, Texas, and many other radio stations.

My Training

I am classically trained in piano from The Royal Conservatory in Toronto, Canada and by extension, I have perfect vocal pitch. I have instructed students vocally for piano and singing and voiceover work for radio and television. I have lectured and been hired to speak on violence against women at The University of Toronto, Ottawa University, McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, and Carlton University in Ottawa, Ontario, all here in Canada
