My Voice Experience

I've gotta get these voices out of my head! Not to worry - when they come, it's totally voluntary. My father was a hit songwriter and a voice over artist in Nashville, who introduced me to the business when I was five years old. I did a national commercial for Vivid Bleach in 1980, though my AFTRA membership is currently inactive. Throughout the eighties I did kids voices, reading copy and singing, for multiple Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal and S'mores Crunch Cereal spots. These were national TV spots. In the nineties I did multiple regional voice over spots for Oscar Mayer, Oldsmobile, Atlanta Bank, and the US Army. Since then I've been singing song demos in Nashville and performing live as a guitar/vocalist all over the eastern seaboard and the southeastern US. I look forward to working with you.

PowerMac G4 dual booting between OS 9.2 and OS 10.4, Pro Tools LE, Digi001, mixing console, QuadraVerb, MidiVerb 4, Alesis compressor/limiter/gate, MidiSport 2x4, suspended condensor mic, assorted diaphragm mics, full-size Yamaha weighted-keys keyboard, 64-key Yamaha keyboard, DR-5 drum machine, 1966 Gibson Dove six-string, 1974 Fender Telecaster, 1990 Washburn electric/acoustic six-string, outboard Fishman guitar preamp, Behringer guitar amp modeler, and a DA-30 DAT recorder. Don't forget the headphones. I have a friend who has a tube microphone preamp, and isolation booth, and mic modeling software.

Additional Skills

I was recently in the US Army, stationed in Vilseck, Germany. I did one tour in Iraq from 2003-2004. While I was there I won two talent contests and performed for eight thousand soldiers, airmen, and marines with just my Washburn acoustic guitar. Ah, if only I had thought to bring a camera on stage with me, I'd have a photo of the crowd. Next time, I guess. I played and sang an original song for them called "Almost Home." I have performed on camera, on the radio, in the studio singing and playing, or live, for the past thirty years. I sang background vocals (tenor harmonies and ghost melodies) on Joe Diffie's "So Help Me, Girl" and "Wild Blue Yonder" on his Sony/Epic album Third Rock from the Sun. Backing vocal arrangement and performance are two very strong skills in my repertoire. Most recently I performed as an acoustic solo act in Atlanta. I am currently working in Nashville, non-exclusively, with a working voice over artist who is also a personal friend.
