Voice Description

While I can be strong and bold for commercials, I possess a warmth and charm for narrations, my presentations are captivating and distinctive, and my on-hold messages are friendly and inviting.

Although all of voice acting creates a "character", creating unique characters is my specialty and my true passion in this line of work. I'm also adept at doing impersonations and several different accents/dialects.

My Voice Experience

My audio production company, Butler Productions, is a producer of custom on-hold music and messages, IVR, voicemail messages, jingles, music for video/film, voiceovers, audiobooks, radio drama, and custom VO and band demos. Our recorded products include our Educational Media Series, which are high-quality readings of historic documents, texts, and print materials, designed specifically for children with difficulty in vision and reading. We also provide educators with custom recordings of tests, quizzes, literature books, etc. In addition, we have produced a series of audiobooks geared specifically for educators, dealing with current educational topics and teaching techniques.

My Training

I have a BA in Creative Music Technologies from LaGrange College, which encompasses everything from music composition, music production, video production, sound design, recording, music performance, voice-over, and public speaking. I also received classical vocal training and have a great deal of experience in musical theater.

Being thirsty for knowledge in my craft, I am constantly expanding my library of instructional material for VO artists and copywriters, as well as attending seminars.

My Studio Equipment

Our facility utilizes Digital Performer, running on a Dual core 2.7GHz G5. On the front end of the system, we use a TAC Scorpion analog recording console with MOTU 2408 audio interface. Our outboard compressors include the Alesis 3630 and Behringer Autocom compressors. Our outboard effects processors include Alesis MidiVerb III, MidiVerb IV, and Korg A1. We monitor through Alesis Monitor One studio reference monitors. We also use a variety of microphones.

Additional Skills

I'm well-versed in recording techniques, audio editing, mixing, and mastering. I'm also a songwriter/composer. Having some background in video production (specifically editing and sound design), I am familiar with the video production process and truly understand what a vital role audio, voice, and music play in a well-produced project.

I also edit my VO projects to free them of any extraneous breath and mouth noise. I can also apply any form of signal processing to make the final product fit your project. Full-production spots, complete with music and sound effects, are no problem. And we can master and encode your finished product to virtually ANY output filetype.
