Voice Description

I have a warm and deep voice and can be very expressive when necessary. I have been an actor in community theare for 35+ years and a lector in my church for 50+ years. I have been disabled for 12 years due to vascular disease and would like to find a way to earn income for my wife and myself.voiceovers is something I would like to do and something I feel I could do. My work in the Theatre included lead and principle roles in nearly all of the summer musicals as well as well as drama comedy Shakespear and mystery theatre throughout the regular season productions. I am member of Hurricane Island Stotytellers in Owensboro Kentucky and The Trinity Players, a readers theatre group with Theatre Workshop of Owensboro and still active with the group which has been preforming for 25+ years.I have had the opportunity to do some public speaking as I have chaired some efforts such as the American Heart association fund drive in our community here.I have also been invited to give motivational talks to various businessmen groups, church groups,xnd civic groups, etc.

My Voice Experience

In addition to the above I have written and recorded a series of explanations of the Sacraments of the Catholic Church for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Owensboro , Kentucky.I have memorized and do dramatic renditions of several Poems, some over 7 minutes duration.

My Training

I have had no extensive training in voice over, but I have a natural feel for what sounds right and what doesn't. I am good at telling a joke. I can make mpeople laugh and have done so for years. I can take direction. If someone tells me what they want I can usually produce it. I have been an insurance salesman 47 years.I know some things about persuading people to listen and to buy.I can communicate sincerity.

Additional Skills

I recorded books for the blind for a few years at our local library then an attorney friend if mine told me he thought while reading for the blind was an honorable and admirable thing to do advised me to persue activities of a more social nature as I had more to offer than simply making recordings.He said he felt people needed to see me and hear what I had to say. Evidently he saw something in me that escaped me altogether. People in my church tell me they understand tne Bible resdings better when I read. I really feel that I could do voice overs well and hope for the opportunity too do them.
