Voice Description

I have an extremely versatile voice, ranging from smooth and seductive in the style of Dervla Kirwin's M&S ads to a posh, classically English sound aka Joanna Lumley. I have an educated, informative and reliable voice for documentaries, narrative, voice-mail messages and voicemail greetings as well as holding messages. I am also adept at a variety of accents and can do children's voices and integrate narration with drama for audio books and animation as well as an approachable, friendly, girl-next-door sound for 'soft-sell' ads and commercials. I am naturally well-spoken, articulate and middle to upper class sounding - great for corporate!

My Voice Experience

I have worked as a voiceover artist on a series of radio ads, which required a girl-next-door voice, girlfriend, middle-England and best friend sound. I have also been the voice of The Financial Times, providing fully updated information on the latest financial news on the global Stock Markets via an automated telephone line. I have also provided voiceover for children's animation.

My Training

I am a fully trained actress and work regularly in a variety of mediums. I have recently finished filming for several independent projects and, for stage, recently played Jane Austen. I learned on the job as a voiceover artist as I have an excellent - and inquisitive! -ear which means a constant desire to want to imitate what I hear, whether that be accents, intonations or speech quirks ie a lisp or a Jonathon Ross 'r'. I have an intrinsic love of language and am fascinated by it both semantically and in terms of how it is used on a day-to-day basis and how it evolves; this derives from my English degree which naturally lead to my studying acting; the study of people, there's little more fascinating to my mind!
