Voice Description

I've been hired for retail commercials that call for warm and fuzzy, girl-next-door, woman on the street, soccer mom, 'cosmetic read', bank teller, newscaster, your best friend, your worst enemy, the life of the party, the wallflower, sultry, edgy, frantic, fun loving, serious and confidential, casual conversational, and that occasional hard sell delivery that kind of hits you over the head.

I've also gotten to create a lot of different character voices for both straight sell and conversational commercials that incorporate regional accents (see below) and result in creating distinctive characters of different personalities and ages including tots, toddlers, teens and the occasional senior.

I've also been the voice of several toys, of several corporate IVR systems, an elaborate on hold recording imparting the latest company news and the voice calling for 'security' over the loudspeaker in a chain of drug stores.

My Training

My college classes included acting, advertising, oral interpretation and creative writing, all of which came together in my first job writing, recording and producing radio commercials.

Having skills as a copy writer have been a huge benefit in the studio. Being able to edit and rewrite on the fly has saved clients a great deal of time and studio fees.
