My Voice Experience

In 2001 and 2002 I did some voice over work for a local television station in Portsmouth, MyTv. I voiced over 2 television commercials and 4 radio commercials in their studios in North End, Portsmouth.

I enjoyed this experience and would very much like to do more.

My Training

I spend some time in the late 90s working for a media monitoring company.

Since then I have performed live music over the years in pubs, bars and some larger venues as a singer. I consider myself to be musically gifted. I have a keen sense of rhythm. I have spent time recording vocals in 3 separate studios for 3 bands as well as a few session appearances with friends in their studio productions.

In 1999 through to 2000 I worked as an operator for British Telecom in Aldershot. I was also selected to be an emergency operator on the 999 lines due to my quality of work.

I have been working for many years now as a client account manager. I spent more than 5 hours per day on the telephone making and receiving calls and part of my job is to use my voice and vocal patterns to keep people calm in a crisis and give them advice on what(the company believes) is best for them.

My Studio Equipment

I have home recording equipment in the form of a software based recording studio. I have a high quality Shure microphone for recording but would be happy to take advice and direction from anyone as to whether there would be more I could do to improve this. Add to that I am more than happy to work in a studio.

Additional Skills

I am a keen listener, I find this helps when taking direction.

I have a good grasp of the English language

I love to learn new things whether it be life skills or new techniques for doing certain activities - being a good listener helps for this.
