Chris Amodeo's overall voiceover "brand" can be described as an interesting vocal amalgam of a Dick Cavett for the VH-1/MTV crowd with hints of Rod Serling if he was a believably cool- young hipster-renaissance man with rock n' roll sensibilities turned yoga dude/dad. His resonnance combined with a slightly nasal placement gives him easy access to an underlying Bill Maher-like wryness. With his wide range, Chris is comfortable going from VH-1 Behind the Music narrations to bigger, more resonnant movie trailers to higher pitched/ promos.

My Voice Experience

After the rockstar fantasy died, although some of that edge is evident in his voiceover, most of Chris Amodeo's adult life has constellated around transformational, contemplative, hippy-dippy, tree-hugging, self actualizing behavior. He has a B.A. in communications, ditched grad school where he was beginning training in psychotherapy, ran off to Boulder to become a Rolfer* instead. He's been in private practice for 17 yrs. and has been featured in Elle, GQ and Coast magazines. A referral to L.A. voiceover guru Nancy Wolfson began his voiceover sojourn two years ago. He manages a full practice while still doing voiceover. Chris is currently featured as the voice of DirecTV.com and is the voiceover for Sony's launch of Blu-ray disc.
