My Voice Experience

It seems I've been at a microphone for most of my life - can't even count the number of radio and TV news stories I've done over the years! I'm also hired to do everything from word pronunciation and spelling practice recordings for schoolkids, to corporate audio newsletters. The more variety, the better!

My Training

My training has been strictly on-the-job, at TV and radio stations. Started in smalltown America (Boise, ID) and worked my way up to one of the nation's largest and most competitive markets (Dallas, TX). In addition to voicework, I write and produce audio and video projects. I taught TV presentation skills and news producing as an adjunct professor at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

My Studio Equipment

My home studio is set up primarily to record narration and conversations by telephone, from soundbites for news stories to longer interviews for corporate audio newsletters. I've got a mixer, a digital limiter and hybrid, and I record on an M-Audio Microtrack II. Can deliver clean, edited mp3 or WAV files. I edit on Adobe Audition.

Additional Skills

I also have portable recording gear for field work. For more than a decade, I was a corporate speechwriter and coached the executives for whom I wrote, to help them be more comfortable onstage or on camera and in interview situations.
