Voice Description

I have a warm and melodious voice. At my very first meeting with a producer from Creative Voice Development Group, he informed me that I have perfect diction and would be excellent for narrative work, audiobooks, voice mail and phone systems, documentaries, and more. For commercial work, I can also sound sexy, fun, flirty, sarcastic, condescending, or obnoxious.

My voice has been described as sweet, warm, maternal, comforting, soothing, tranquil, melodic, gentle, nurturing, sexy, thoughtful, pleasant, intelligent, lovely, melodious, and musical.

I am not very adept at impersonations or accents, but I do come across as very genuine.

My Voice Experience

I've done mainly online vocal work. My first - and favorite - project was providing the voice of a character from a fantasy novel, reading a letter over instrumental music. I've recorded a number of bumps from online radio, and I've even done some karaoke for online radio as well. I'd never make it to Hollywood on American Idol as far as singing the karaoke, but I wouldn't be mocked on the audition shows either.

My Training

I participated in a workshop with Creative Voice Development Group, which provided the bulk of my professional training. I was involved with both musical theater and show choir throughout my high school and college years. Currently, my husband is a DJ for an online radio station, and I provide a number of bumps and other vocal work for the station.

I've had a variety of experience that may be helpful for your next project. I have both a BA and MA in Psychology; I have worked at a residence for girls with emotional disorders, a supportive apartment program for adults with mental illness, and the adolescent unit of a psychiatric hospital.

I was Editor-In-Chief of my college newspaper for all but my first and last semesters.

I have worked as a babysitter, a grocery store cashier, a hotel front desk supervisor, a message board moderator, and an internet search quality rater.

I love music and musical theater, and I have a decent singing voice, but not quite the level of a professional recording artist.
