Voice Description

My voice has been described by Vocal Coaches and other actors as being a young version of what is usually called a "Voice of God" when it is possessed by an older man. It has also been suggested that because I'm in my twenties and sound it, the youthfulness combined with such rich sonority makes me an ideal choice for advertisers who want a young but very authoritative sound, and an equally good choice for corporate narrations aimed at a younger demographic such as Pepsi Cola or Mattel Toys. And due to the power of my voice, I am a very strong choice for promos or movie trailers. My voice is deep and warm which also makes it inviting for local businesses as well. As evidenced in my narration demo, I can also record sportscasting as well as other high intensity spots.

My Voice Experience

Throughout my time in both high school and college, I have been told by friends, family, colleagues and more commonly, complete strangers that I have a "radio" or "movie trailer" voice. While I did some public speaking and voice-over work for school functions and projects, I never considered it as a career option. After coming to Los Angeles for a job in television development, I was approached by many in the industry that inquired about my involvement in voice-over. It was then that I chose to actively pursue voice-over as my career and diligently studied the techniques of voice-over with acclaimed voice director, Warren Meyers. I have now finished my training and have a fully functioning home studio out of which I record and edit voice-over assignments.

I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Communications with an emphasis on Public Speaking and Film. I was a member of the improv comedy troupe CHiPs (Chapel Hill Improv Players) as well as wrote and starred in our Student Television sitcom, "The Suite Life". I also laid down narration and voice-over for a variety of student film projects.

In my home studio I use a Rode Podcaster microphone. All of my tracks are edited with Audacity.
