My Voice Experience

I was first chosen to speak on the radio at the age of 8, reading a poem on BBC Radio 5. Plummeting from treble to bass several years later did nothing to damage my radio voice! I have been selected to give readings on BBC Radio 4, and honed my microphone and presentation skills through 2 years of hosting my own student radio show.

My Training

Degree in Music from Cambridge University, during which time I was a choral scholar. I have performed live, as a singer, numerous times on BBC radio, as well as spending considerable time in a recording studio environment, making professional CDs.

Further to my student radio experience, I have done 2 placements with BBC Radio 3, participating in recording and editing procedures. As part of my academic studies, I had to hold numerous interviews, which I recorded.

Additional Skills

My academic studies have given me lots of experience of script-reading, as I have given several presentations, and also a paper at a National Conference recently. This has also given me the confidence to read and convey material that is quite demanding.
