My natural sound though is the big brother, guy next door, fun loving, energetic, sincere, reassuring and quite often more than a bit nerdy (or maybe that's just my personality).

My Voice Experience

Am I any different from most of the people on this site? You decide. I have always loved doing voices and just exploring what I can do with this instrument. The first time I ever got in front of a studio mic was when I hosted a radio show called "X-Communication" in McMurdo Station Antarctica, but was eventually driven out by the penguins. Than I had a kid, and a perfectly captive audience for my silliness (sound familiar?). So, when I ended up working for High Noon Entertainment as an associate producer, it dawned on me that I could actually try to be good at this, and bugged editors I was working with to let me voice the scratch tracks for the shows we were producing. Working with the producers, I have been able to fine tune things quite a bit. At the same time, I trained professionally, and got my home equipment set up, and now I practice and audition and hope for better things to come up that I can put in this section. When that happens, I promise to keep it shorter.

My Training

For the past year I have trained with Nancy Wolfson in VO.
For about 20 years I have been acting on stage.
Various classes in character study, script breakdown, voice technique, singing and movement.
I have a BS (cum laude) in Film/Video production from University of Colorado.
Aug. 2004 - present - High Noon Entertainment - Associate Producer for How Stuff's Made for Discovery; Warriors for History; How'd That Get On My Plate? for Food Network; New Spaces for HGTV; Sweat Equity for DIY. Recorded scratch track VO for various episodes of these shows (during off hours, if the bosses are looking).
