I've worked with artists from A&M, MCA, Motown, Capital, CBS, MGM, Warner Brothers, RCA, Sparrow, Word, Curb, and Concord. My students have sold millions of records and starred in tv, film, broadway, and nightclubs. I've done national and local commercials, on camera and/or voice-over, for Coca-Cola, McDonald's, Dentyne, Sure, Jack In The Box, Snicker's, Epson Guitars,Taco Bell, Mutual of Omaha, and many, many more. I'm also a professional writer, lyricist, composer, librettist, copywriter, and musician.

My Training

I began working as a professional demo singer when I was 15, won the Battle of the Bands, best male vocalist, at sixteen, signed with RCA records at seventeen, appeared on Lawrence Welk, Merv Griffin, The Tonight Show, Larry Kane, Room 222, Hollywood KCET Theater, and starred in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kids for Hanna-Barbera. While at UCLA I won the Frank Sinatra Award for Best Male vocalist, and the Glaydys Turk Award for Best Male Vocalist.

I have a B.S. from UCLA in History and Political Science, with a minor in Psychology, and am currently completing my MFA at UCLA.
I studied lyric writing privately with Sammy Cahn, and voice with Seth Riggs. I taught a masters class with Seth Riggs at UCLA, and studied entertainment business with David Geffen at UCLA's Graduate School of Business. I studied musical composition privately with Dominic Frontiere. I was a staff composer for Mike Curb Productions, and Kenny Rogers Productions. I studied commercial acting with Maxine Anderson and voice over technique with Kat Lehman.

In addition, I've written for MGM, Tristar, Miramax, ABC, October Films, August Films, and others. In 1999 I wrote the libretto for the 9 and a half million dollar production of Ben-Hur, The Musical.

Additional Skills

"If you want to learn something, teach it" -- that has been the central tenet of my life and has given me the opportunity to learn from thousands of diverse and fascinating individuals over the years. I am incurably curious, and when not reading or working I'm listening to recorded books and magazines of every genre while walking and juggling. It's a fun way to integrate physical and mental exercise.

A techno geek, I'm always experimenting with the latest software and recording gear, and can record everything from orchestral to hip-hop in my home studio. I've worked with ProTools, Cubase, Sonar, Reason, Logic, Digital Performer, etc., but for efficiency and ease of use Apple's Garage Band O8 is my current favorite. I can provide everything; music, copy, voice-over, pre & post production, with passion and enthusiasm because I love what I do.
